Alex is Vice Chairman, Partner, Portfolio Manager and member of the Investment Committee at Edgewood Management.  He is involved in stock research, managing client assets and produces the “Economents™”, an economic and financial markets update for clients. 

Prior to Edgewood, Alex was a shareholder and senior member of the Portfolio Management team at W.P. Stewart & Co. for 19 years.  There he chaired the Investment Oversight Committee.

Alex is on the Board of CollegeSpring, which assists low-income high-school students in SAT & ACT college entry testing.  He is on the Advisory Board of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS), and on Georgetown University’s Parent Leadership Committee.  He is member of the Princeton University President’s Circle.

He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR – NY), the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO), Chief Executives Organization (CEO), and formerly of Tiger21.  Alex serves on the Dallas based George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Executive Advisory Council.  He is on the board of trustees of the Museum of the City of New York (MCNY) where he is nominating chair.

He was Vice Chair and Trustee of the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC), that promoted access to health services around the world.  This merged to create Fos Feminista in 2021, a large international organization for reproductive health and rights.

Alex was formerly President of the Princeton Club of New York and member of the Economics Club of New York.  He is an owner and on the board of Kalinat S.A., a potato chip manufacturing company in Caracas, Venezuela.

More recently he has been involved in fundraising and heightening awareness for cancer care for military veterans, as well as investing in regenerating the nation’s manufacturing and pharmaceutical capacity.

He received a BA in Economics from Princeton University in 1987.  He speaks fluent French, Spanish, and conversational Farsi and Italian.
