Ike Kier brings decades of experience in finance, investment, and entrepreneurship to the Wikimedia Endowment Board. He is a strong advocate and supporter of Wikimedia, particularly its efforts in maintaining a neutral point of view and facilitating knowledge equity.
Early in his career, Ike served as CEO of Lida Inc (Nasdaq:LIDA) which was the premier producer of cotton stretch fabrics in the 1990s. Subsequently he founded KG Funds Management, a public investment fund that he operated until 2021. Since closing the fund, Ike and his family have been making social impact investments.
Ike has served as a mentor and board member of Build NYC, a nonprofit that empowers undeserved high school youth with entrepreneurship skills. He has also advocated publicly for fairness and transparency in limited partnership structures. Born in Cuba and raised in North Carolina, Ike holds a J.D. from George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University.
